Stack the odds in your favour. Rather than relying on physical attraction or hunches, make sure you have a lot in common , i.e, same religion , similar moral beliefs, common interests, shared goals, etc.
Also, look at the family. An apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
If everything looks good, then you can rely on physical attraction and hunches.

You'll never find love if you're looking for it.
It comes when you least expect it.
Trust me.
In my case, he was my friend for over a year.
He was right under my nose the entire time & I didn't even know it.
Have faith in God. Know that He has a plan for you and will bring you the one in His time.

my love now is the guy that i had been friends with my whole life since like 1st grade a dude i would never think of being with and then all the sudden i asked him out and we've been together 8 months...........
