Doesn't concentrating so much wealth to the Wayne family and away from the middle class cause the income disparity leading to crime? Batman can save a few lives a day but wouldn't having a significantly larger middle class lead to a lot fewer crimes?

but if you look at it in that way, isn't Wayne Enterprises creating jobs and wealth for the people themselves.
Then again, having it there makes Gotham a major city, thus attracting many people (from diff. places), thus increasing population, which in turn increases crime.

lol...This is funny

I would have thought that a more revoultionary approach was required, would a radical redistribution of the Wayn Empire's wealth to the poor and dispossed not create a better society, how many people live in the dark underbelly of Gotham and on it's streets? If these peole were given Wayn's wealth for proper housing, education, training and health Gotham would be a much safer place.

In the most recent movie, Batman Begins, it actually shows how Wayne Enterprises donated a ton of money and was working towards a better life for working classes with an improved transportation system and healthcare.

Your theory is flawed from the start. Look at the kind of people Batman usually fights:

-Joker
-Penguine
-Large scale mob bosses

Joker is a sociopath, he will hurt people because he wants to ... not because of poverty. Penguin and mob bosses already have huge sums of money. Do you honestly think these types of people commit crimes because they are needy?
