I think when you use the word "peeps" to address the thousands of Tutsis that have been maliciously slaughtered by once friends and neighbors then it really shows how ignorant you are.

Hotel Rwanda, was a semi accurate telling of what went on, I suggest you search the name Romeo Dallaire, we has the person that Nick Nolte played. Romeo Dalllaire has a great book on the subject and how it affected his life and how he almost committed suicide after. It is a true account why almost 1 million people died and less then 200 UN peacekeepers where there to hold down the fort...it is so shocking.

Yes I have, and also the situation in the Sudan today. Neither of which was or is being done by White Christians or Americans, so is ignored by the world press. If anyone *ever* thought that the UN was good for *anything* these situations should prove otherwise.

It was a horrible tragedy. The world leaders all knew it was happening and did nothing about it. What is worse is there is still political crisis in and around that area, and resources which could be used to save lives (ie. the American Army) are being used to end them. When will we ever learn?!

The world's focus was elsewhere at the time..... Africa is to poor and corrupt to take care of their own. What other big event happened in 1994 to grab the world's attention???? South Africa was having it's first free election... apartheid was ending.... the world was to busy looking at that to notice what was going on in Ruwanda..... Sad to say Genocide is still going on in the world today. It has just not hit the scale of WW2 and Rawanda ... yet.

I think the UN were policing that one, and their powers are limited, rules of engagement are different. It was a bit of a mess all in all but unfortunately when the military's hands are tied, all you can do is sit back and watch as civvies get hacked/burnt/kicked to death because the politics says you can't intervene unless you're fired upon. Civil war is a tricky one to get involved in.

I remember when it was happening. On CNN they had a far away image of sludge water hitting up against some cliffs, then got closer and the sludge was HUMAN bodies.
Yeah, 8,000 people died every day for 100 days.
Its like HOTEL RWANDA says: They ain't even nig.gers, they're Africans.
Yeah, America sucks when it comes to African genocide. Now go read up on Dafur to get a new wave of injustice that is happening NOW!!!!!!

obviously it was a very terrible event. recently many people have been educated about this event because of the film Hotel Rwanda. I think that the release of that film really helped this tragedy get some much needed exposure
