In my opinion the best song were writen between '70 and '90 so defenetly old songs are the best, all the new artists copy something from old songs lyrics, beats, melodi lines. I don't know want "seether" means but if want sad song just look between '80 and '99 in all kinds of music. My personal favorite it's November Rain by Guns N' Roses.
