I am 19wks 2 days according to one u/s at 16wks and 19wks 5 days according to my second u/s at 19 wks. Which one is most accurate? (i know its only a few days different but i'm really really excited about finally hitting the 20wk mark so would like to know which is more accurate so i know when i actually reach 20wks!!)

Also, does anyone know how much their baby weighed/weighs at 19/20wks? On my u/s pics it says EFW 295g - i am assuming this is babies weight? The doc said everything is going really well and baby is progressing perfectly so i'm not worried, just curious about others!

Thanks in advance :)

When you have an u/s they measure the length of the femur (thigh) bone and make a weight estimate based on it's length then attempt to figure out the weeks (along with when you had your last mentral cycle). The EFW stands for the Estimated Fetal Weight of your baby. All u/s are just estimates so their accuracy is about the same. Your baby at your last u/s was estimated to weigh 295 grams. By the way...454 grams is one pound. Good luck!

I was always told that the earlier in the pregnancy the U/S is done the more accurate becuase after 12 weeks every baby grows at a different pace. Hence why some woman have 6 pounders and some have 13, ouch!

I always went by the farthest one so 19wks and 5 days would be what i would go by also by the 20th week the baby should be around 1 pound 12 ounces

hmmm i would like to know where you see the EFW??? looking at my pics i dont see that anywhere....but im at 25 weeks (well on monday) and my baby is about 11 inches long and a pound and a half...so i say shed an inch or two and maybe half a pound and theres ur estiments...

about the accurate u/s im not sure...when i went in my doc did the exam and said i was no more than 6-7 weeks....2 weeks later they did an ultrasound, that said 8 weeks and so many days (cant remember now) but i know every monday i go up a week. and so far every u/s has matched that...i dunno maybe im lucky

congrats

Thats thoroughly common thinking hes 2 oz far flung from being 2 finished pounds and your purely 6 months. Your moms boyfriend is ideal, by the time you've your toddler it is going to likely be common length. Dont situation.. very last couple months is even as the toddler truly starts gaining weight, you seem on the right course so a techniques although.

According tom my doctor you really should go by the first day of your last period to figure out how far along you are. Unless the date given to you by an ultra sound is 10 days difference.
When you have an ultra sound it bases how far along you are by the size of your baby, and as we know babies come in different sizes. So if your baby is big for its age then the ultra sound is going to tell you that you are father along than you are.
Make sense?
