All over the world. Yahoo has its own servers, Google has their's, Wikipedia has some somewhere else. In fact, if you really wanted to, you could host your own website from your home computer, as long as you were willing to keep it online and connected 24/7 so people could visit your pages.

The internet is more a concept than a tangible object - a massive worldwide network of millions of servers. Hence the name worldwide web.

The internet has no one location, it is only the mechanism used to access information that is stored on inumerable servers (large banks of computers, without monitors) in many locations around the world. These servers are often owned by small local companies who "rent out" space for information to be stored.

Everywhere. Your computer can be a server on the Internet. Nothing special is required other than an Operating System and some webserver software like Apache or IIS.

Good question.

I certainly don't know the answer, and anyone who tries to explain will sound like a fool. My advice is to not think about it too much because, really now, does thinking about it make the internet a better place? Like, so what if you know where they are?

Haha. :]
