well its either an overloaded USB rack, or its trying to start with everything turned on, and youve got nowhere near enough ram..so it locks up... and gives you the blue screen of death.
start> run> type MSCONFIG into the prompt and select teh startup folder..and untick everything..and tehn reboot. it should load perfectly, and when you want something, a click on an icon will fire it up...
this is why i dont use XP... try LINUX looks like windows, but its free, and doesnt crash... type UBUNTU into google and have a look

When you got the blue screen of death, it posted a number, you can use this number to google the web for help. Also, if you are using windows XP, it will log any issues for you to research later.
Go into your control panel, click on Administrative Tools, click on event viewer, and then on system. Of course anything with a red x will be an error you want to pay attention to. You can right click the error and click properties to display more information. If you are connected to the web, it will even provide help from Microsoft's web services.

What happens whilst it crashes... Does it supply a reminiscence sell off or deadly exception errors, or does it purely close down or restart, no errors given. The errors are brought about via a hardware/utility errors, and without understanding the suitable errors its annoying to diagnose the subject, to that lead to case you could no longer determine it out take it to a tech and have them run a hardware test on it. the 2nd is in all probability via a ability difficulty, which many times ability the two your ability furnish and/or ability administration unit on the laptop is undesirable or you're no longer getting sufficient juice or getting undesirable ability from the opening, the least complicated thank you to restoration and verify this difficulty is to get a UPS, value it, and plug the laptop into it, if it maintains to nonetheless take place have the motherboard and ability furnish examined. There are some much less in all probability matters yet nonetheless no longer uncommon that could desire to reason the two between the above to take place, yet lower back in case you could no longer % out the subject extra particularly you in all probability ought to take it to a tech to have it appeared at.

Do you happen to have all those USB ports occupied?
Sometimes I've seen windows shutdown because their wasnt a sufficient amount of wattage to supply all the components in the computer to work properly.
