depending on your body's built, you may actually be feeling baby move for the first time, slimmer women feel baby move sooner, and opposite for heavier gals:-) I felt my son move at 14 weeks and I'm on the heavy side and its felt amazing!!!
And as for knowing the baby's sex, that depends on little one, if they play shy, keeping their knees closed, you may not find out right away, I didn't know until I was 35 weeks, there is less room to flip and turn about and so the ultrasound Tech was able to see better, I wish you all the best:-)

No at 16 weeks you can probably tell!! It is a little early but most people can tell!! and you are feeling "lightning" that is the feeling of the baby but not the actual kicks or stuff! you will be able to feel that at like 16-17 weeks at the earliest( I was like 18-19 weeks)

You can find out the sex, as long as your baby coroperates, Try drinking something with caffiene before you go, the he/she will be moving around and they will have a better chance of seeing. But as far as the "movements" I couldnt feel any distinct movements until about 26-27 weeks, I did feel something in the beginning, but I think it was more gas bubbles then anything. They are soo tiny then, and it could also be everythign moving around inside. When you feel a "kick" or "squirm" you'll know it, it feels so cool. And then you ll be pushing on your tummy trying to make it happen again. Good Luck.

No. Some women can start to feel the baby move around 12-13 weeks. I didn't feel movement with my son until 20 weeks, but with my 2nd pregnancy I started feeling light movements at 12 weeks. At 13 weeks I thought I was going to have a toe sticking out of my belly button...lol

At 16 weeks an ultrasound can give you a tentative guess as to the sex of your baby - usually the definite answer comes anywhere from 18-21 weeks. I was extremely skinny (actually too thin) when I got pregnant with my twins, it was probably close to 14 or 15 weeks when I knew that it was a baby that I felt moving. It's different for everyone though and honestly you're the only one who can tell if its gas or not - if it's never felt that way before its probably your baby.

You may get lucky and be able to tell the sex of your baby, but it is usually around 18-20 weeks when you are able to tell.
12 weeks seems a bit early to be able to feel the baby move. You maybe be experiencing Braxton Hicks contractions that that is what you are feeling. Most usually feel movement with their first baby at around 20-24 weeks.

at my OB between 16 and 20 weeks is when you find out the sex. And i guess since this is my 4th pregnancy I can feel my baby move and i am only 11 weeks. but it is hard to say if it is your baby moving or not because i cant feel it but it could be or it could just be gas.

are you skinny??? i felt my baby move at about 18 weeks, your baby makes sparatic movements by weeks 7, but personally i think you might feel gas which is often the case, second usually they cant tell that early unless its really developed fast, usually around 18 weeks i saw my baby boy at 21 weeks, and im 25 now
congrats and good luck

Although I doctor would tell you know, I'd tell you YES!
I didn't feel my daughter until almost 17 weeks, but with my son, I felt him for the first time at 13 weeks - I knew what the sensation was, so I was able to recognize it earlier.
It sounds to me like you're really tuned into your body and your little one! Enjoy!
