Jay Williams recently tried out for the New Jersey Nets and made their pre-season roster. Unfortunately, Jay was cut from the Nets line-up prior to the start of the NBA regular season.

Having lost his explosive first-step as well as his vertical leaping ability, Jay Williams is no longer the player he once was, but according to sport scribes, he has improved his decision making when distributing the basketball and his outside jump shot.

Williams still hopes to one day make it back in the NBA. He has be quoted to see his recent dismissal as "a bump in the road."

Hope this helps.

He was going to try to make a comeback this year. I believe it was the Nets who had him during their training camp but they let him go before the season started. I haven't heard of anyone picking him up yet.

He was just signed (and cut) by the New Jersey Nets. I don't know where is is now, though.
