If you know please include Pluto even though it is no longer a planet. What I mean by ways are acrostic poems of some sort which help the person remember the planets. I have one but it's not really good enough. eg. My (Mercury) Very (Venus) Enormous (Earth) Monster (Mars) Just (Jupiter) Sucked (Saturn) Up (Uranus) Nine (Neptune) People (Pluto) It took me FOREVER just to figure this one out ... but please help me find more ways!

I like songs better than pneumonic devices. My favorite was one from an old Blue's Clues, when Steve was still there.
It's not the same reading it as hearing it, but if you really like it, you could make up a tune.

Well the Sun's a hot star,
And Mercury's hot too
Venus is the brightest planet
And Earth's home to me and you
Mars is the red one
And Jupiter's most wide
Saturn's got those icy rings
And Uranus spins on its side
Neptune's really windy
And Pluto's really small.
Well, we wanted to name the planets
And now we named them all.

If you've never heard it, you can here

Only difference is we sing it faster, funner, and without the creative piano interlude.

I am kind of surprised that no one else has said this one. Actually this was the only one I ever knew until reading through the answers from this question. THe one I grew up with was MAN VERY EARLY MADE JARS STAND UP NEARLY PERPENDICULAR. This is the only one I heard at home or at school.

Yup... It's called showing a general interest in astronomy.

You pay attention to the things that interest you.

At least I do anyway?

ask me about Math and I have no clue but I can tell you anything you want to know about Astronomy. You have just got to care... otherwise, your brain will just file it in forget...
