For me, you've described affection with those examples in your question. Passion is a strong feeling of desire, love and energy for the person you love. That said I couldn't live without your version of passion but I could live without mine, if I really had to, so long as I had the former! Makes you think though how peoples interpretations aren't always the same as we'd think.
