Do you mean book 7? It's supposed to hit stores July of 2007. As for it being the last book, no one truly knows, not even JK. She said she was tired of writing the series but when fellow author Stephen King begged her not to kill off Harry, I think he convinced her that maybe one day she would want to write another. So we all must wait patiently. I know it's hard, but we have no choice.

There are rumours that because it is the 7th book it will be released on the 7th day of the 7th month in the year 2007.
7th July 2007.
However, this hasn't been confirmed or denied as yet by Bloomsbury, UK publishers of the Harry Potter books.
