Think about it, there are billions of us, and also billions more in the past, and will be in the future, but yet everyone's face is unique. How come there could be so many versions and never run out of new face?

Because the human DNA molecule has over 6 trilliion possible combinations. Using a simple 4-word language (C,T,G and A) every DNA molecule has the equivalent of a well-stocked library encoded into its makeup. It contains a complete set of instructions on how to construct a human being. 99.9% of it will be identical to everyone else's but that one tenth of one percent identifies you as a unique individual,

Not to forget every set of fingerprints!
No, seriously, there are some things I would like to add to your question:
1. There is not only one face for a person, every face changes also during a lifetime.
2. Identical twins have usually the same faces. They have inherited the same genetical code. But that diminishes the number of possibilities not too much.
3. There exist a number of people with practically identical faces. That's the danger of biometrics. Imagine a terrorist having nearly your face, the differences too small to be recognised by a biometric video system, and you want to board a plane. You would have difficulties to do that. On the other hand the number of terrorists is so small, compared to over 7 billion humans, that such a thing is unlikely - but not impossible.
4. How do you know that no face of today has ever had its peer in the past?
5. Call it God, call it nature, who gave us the system of the genetic code DNA. This system has so many possibilities, most of them make us human beings, but some are only to make us individuals. Apart from that, our life, too, leaves traces. Imagine two boys with about the same face at the age of 15. One goes to college, highscool and becomes a businessman. The other,a farmer's son in a region with a lot of sun, becomes a farmer, too. At the age of 40 the two meet, with now very different faces, one all sunburnt, the other white.

Its all about the DNA, everyone has their own. and when two people have a child that child takes 50% of his DNA from the Father and the other 50% from the Mother. Making billion possibilities of how the person looks, also the reason why everyone looks different, except twins. Twins have almost the same DNA, the reasons for this is two sperms entered the egg at the same time, there for they look the same or almost the same.

Thankfully, every face is not different, some come in pairs called twins and occasionally more copies, like triplets or quints. So, it is a lot easier remembering all those faces than you thought.

Well think how long your DNA is and then think of how many differant eqotions in you being born. Your mom has many eggs and your dad many sperm, = many possibilities in just one person.
