This sounds really gross, but the infertility doc told me to lay on the bed with my bum on a pillow, legs up the wall for a half hour after we'd done the business. It gets the little tadpoles swimming in the right direction. Also try taking your temperature every day for a month and see when you are ovulating (it's usually about 15 - 17 days into your monthly cycle). When your temperature goes up, you go and have fun (actually after a couple of thousand temperature raises, you end up reading magazines about ceiling renovation while he does the business, but that's beside the point!). It's easy for people to say 'relax', and while they are right, when it's you who's going through the 'I wonder if it'll happen this time?', relaxing becomes an impossibility. If you haven't already been to see the doctor, go. It will relax you a certain amount by the simple fact that you feel you are actually doing something. Ask to be referred to the infertility clinic (How I grew to hate that term. When I was there, it was held in the same place, at the same time as the heavily pregnant ladies breathing exercise class. Talk about heartless!) and they will prod and poke in all the required places to see if everything is where it should be. They gave me invaluable advice on techniques (like the pillow and wall!) and if all else fails, they have a huge array of tests available.
Whatever, give the pillow and wall a chance, you never know. Yes, you're doing it, but are you doing it right?????

Sounds like your new partner might need to be checked out thoroughly. You can ask your ob to refer you to a fertility specialist that can check your partner's sperm count and the actual sperm's mobility. Also, making sure that you guys are having sex on the right day of your cycle is vital..You can start measuring your basal body temp and determine when you should be ovulating or you can buy an OTC ovulation kit at your drugstore or walmart. GOOD LUCK!!!! (SOme suggestions to help out his swimmers are 1)wearing boxers 2) not taking hot baths or getting in a hot tub when you plan to conceive 3) taking 1000 mg of vit C everyday 4) not smoking)

I think u shud give it a bit longer. Maybe three or four months. It's a gud sign if you r having regular periods. Without getting too personal make sure you dont get out of bed (or wherever you are!) for about 15 minutes afterwards and keep you legs up. Try and predict ovulation and make love as often as possible around this time. Buy a kit from boots. Hope this helps!

I'm so sorry you are having problems. Are you trying at the optimum time of the month ? (usually two weeks after the start of your last period)
Do either of you smoke or drink if so stop now that will help some . After intercourse....i know this doesn't sound lady like but lay with your legs and hips raised a little (sounds stupid but worked for me) If problems are lasting more than a year see your doctor they can help :)

I apologise for the inappropriate answers by some users. Me and my partner have been trying for a year and still nothing has happened. I went to the doctors today and she told me she would run some blood tests on me in general and to check i'm ovulating and also refer my partner to have his semen tested to ensure everything is in good working order. She also told me the best piece of advice she could offer is stop charting my fertility as i have done, reduce my stress levels, enjoy my partner and my sex life and it will happen and stress is the major cause of unexplained fertility problems. I hope this helps, go and see your doctor for basic tests, good luck and as hard as it is (i know) stop stressing it will happen.x.

I tried for 12 months to concieve my first child, in some ways its just luck. Just cos theres a 1 in 8 chance you will get pregnant if you have sex while ovulating, doesnt necessarily mean that if you have sex 8 times youll definitely get pregnant. If you're worried you can get ovulation kits form the chemist, and if you still havent concieved after 12 months then is the time to see your doctor.
Good luck!

Dainty, to get pregnant you must have sex on a day that your eggs are being released.

After the 3rd day from the day that menses started put a thermometer into your mouth and check your body temperature every morning before you start turning in bed. The best time is at about 4 a.m. Maintain a chart. You will find that on one day the body temperature drops from 1/2 degree to one degree. This is the day that your eggs are being released. If you want to get pregnant this is the day that you must have sex. Tell your fiance to ejaculate on his inward thrust so that the sperms will shoot deep inside.

After having sex you must stay in bed for about 30 mins with your knees bent up with a pillow under your buttocks so that the sperms will not pour out - to enable them to travel up.

Get your fiance to save his sperms in the testacles for at least 3 days before sex to enable them to mature well to do their job.

Take a fertility test to see if there are any problems, both you and your partner. Then if that all clear get a home ovulation kit and keep track of your best times to mate! so to speak!

Hello - I can tell you how you have a baby and I'm very serious.
First you need to go out and buy the Ovulation Kit called,
FIRST RESPONSE. What this kit does it checks your urine every day. Then when it turns BLUE, then you can have a baby.
It really worked for me as my time clock was ticking. It doesn't
give gender it give you a baby. So good luck..
