If so does Bush's conection to oil disqualify him from formulating it.

If you're still got the energy?

What should it be?

Ok we've the strategic reserve
BUT 60% of oil is imported
so should the US use foreign policy to ensure oil security.

Of course we should, and Bush's oil industry connections don't disqualify him, they qualify him. you've got it backwards. Oil policy should be made with input and guidance from people familiar with the oil industry. That's just common sense.

Well we do currently have an oil reserve that can only be taken from by governmental orders.

I wouldn't be surprised if Bush hasn't sucked it dry by now and given it to all his oil interests. That should answer the part of your question as far as giving Bush any authority over it. He should most definitely not qualify for any say-so in it.

I have never in my life mistrusted any president as much as I mistrust Bush.

Yes.... and yes.... we should develop the oil we have on our own lands and thus be much less energy dependent on other nations... at the same time we should develop alternate sources of energy like oil shale and coal. And no matter how loudly the environmentalist scream we should put up new sources like wind and solar and even atomic energy
