16x^2 + 12x

In order to solve, you would need an equal sign. I think maybe you mean finding the zeros?

First we would need to factor it. We could pull an x and a 4 out of each.

4x(4x + 3)

We get two factors.
4x
4x + 3

Then we set each factor equal to 0 to find the zeros of the equation.

4x = 0
x = 0

4x + 3 = 0
4x = -3
x = -3/4

Our zeros are 0 and -3/4.

I hope I helped. :)

Hmm...you can't solve this because 16x^2 + 12x is a variable expression- NOT an equation. If it had an = sign, then it'd be an equation & could be simplified further., but I'd like to clear up some peoples' misconceptions because they're gonna mess you up.

You wrote 16x^2 without ( ), so the 16 will not be squared. If it looked like this: (16x)^2, or (16x)squared, then ok, the 16 will be multiplied by itself. But w/out ( ) aound the 16 AND the x, then the squared only refers to the x.

You don't add the 12 & the 16 because their variables don't "match up." They need to have the same type of x attached to them to be able to add them together. x^2 & x aren't "like terms" and we can only "combine like terms" in algebra; like just means matching.

if you mean 16x squared + 12x = 0 then rearranging gives, 16x squared = -12x then dividing by x gives, 16x = -12 then dividing by 16 gives, x = -12/16 or reducing gives x = -3/4 or x = -0.75, if not sorry!

I don't think there is a way to solve this problem, it can only be simplified:

(16x)^2+12x
256x^2+12x

Rob and chabbylav are wrong,

16*16*16+12*=4108

the answer is 4108

squared means powered by 2 powereed by 2 means times each other 2 times like 5 squared is 5 powered by 2 wich will be 25 because it's 5*5

16x^2+12x=How much?
if it is 16x^2=12x=0,then here is the solution,
16x^2+12x=0
4x(4x+3)=0
=>Either 4x=0 or 4x+3=0
Therefore x=0 or x=-3/4

there is no = in this question, so x can be anything. There is no right answer to this question.

the only other way I can think to solve this is

16x squared = 256x + 12x = 268x
