when will
americans wise up and stop letting a few in most cases idiots determine what is best for our country , nation, world,
we have torn down energy producing dams all over our country because some idiots claimed we were interferring with different spieces of fish when there were simple alternatives such as by passes etc, they also complain about nuclear energy, how dangerous it is etc, when it is certaintly not as dangerous as the polutants we put into our air , water etc as the fossil fuels we use today, plus we could become independent from the middle east oil cartel by using these energy sources, and also demand our gov, put more money into alternative energy such as ethonal,or solar,
Rob Snider? movie producer who preaches to us to conserve and is so insrumental in leading this B.S. about the dams , nuclear energy dangers etc lives in a 40.000 s,f, home?? what the hell, does he own big time oil stock or???? I would bet I could live good on his utility billls alone

Jason m, I didn't suggest destroying any speices of fish or any other creature , bt if we can go to the expense of making other means for said fish or??? to survive and repopulate it seemsthey would not be very angry at us , we may even be able to assist them in their living standards, so why can't we all work together for survival?
you are right about America being illiterate and if you recall it started with intergration, when our gov, insisted we integrate our schools and no one could control the blacks for fear of being labeled prejudice so no one could learn anything and the colleges had tolower their standards and accept people into college who could not even read or write , then our top professors starte leaving this country t o teach people who could read and write, so the U,S, has been set back at least 100 years and other nations have steadily progressed we came in in 5th place this year in technology alone , thanks toour liberal stupid politicians and nine boys in black

Dude,
1st off, thanks for serving in the Marines! As soon as you realize that environmentalism is the new communism, you'll understand their motivations for stopping all sorts of energy production. Energy means progress, progress means economic development and economic development means some get rich and the lazy get left behind. These people are the lazy and they see themselves being left behind and must lash out at the rest of us.
Be patient my friend. They're having abortions thus, eliminating themselves from the gene pool. Have children and raise them as competitors and Americans. We will eventually beat their asses back into the stone age where they prefer to live.

As to the fish: On a purely philosophical note, our showing a little respect for the fact that we share this planet with other living things that have as much right to it as we can only be helpful in the long run. WE DO need to learn to control ourselves.
Nuclear power I suspect has its future in fusion not fission. No waste or harmful environmental effects and likely only a few decades out. There have also, we must remember, been many nuclear accidents even though most were not as well-publicized as Chernobyl or 3-Mile Island. Fission is a dead end solution that creates more problems then it's worth. Best to look further into that then over-invest in a technology that will by necessity be outdated soon enough.
As to oil and Cole, I have to agree that these things will remain in place until they are utterly gone and chaos will ensue when they start to run dry. Not because people don't know better but because they don't care. ANYTHING for convenience. Even death. The insanity of the day the tanks go dry will only help those who cause it as they then step in to "save us" at a handsome fee.
The most important thing we have to do though, is stop being pigs. We use many times our fare share in the US. As to "Enviornmentalism" being the new "comunism"--Such stupidity is truely beyond the pale. That sort of attitude leads to extintion. It is selfish, foolish, and arrogant. And how "compeditive" are people who yell "USA USA USA" when we're statistically the most backwards and uneducated people in the western world. It's easy enough to say "We're Number 1", but when your 95th in litteracy you look a tad stupid doing ity. And I'm a combat veteran so spare me the "liberal hippie must die" rant.
Claiming that the likes of George W. Bush are "compeditive" and that the poor are "lazy" is just retarded. It takes a lot more work to survive poor, and "success" is about where you start in this culture, not how hard you work. Anyone who says otherwise is a liar or an imbicile.

The water realest from San Onfre power plant is 13 times less radioactive than beer. If a San Onfre worker carries a banana throw a radiation detector it goes off, that how safe the plant are. Nuclear power puts zero emissions into the air. The waste can easily be stored in places like the planned Yucca Mountain storage facility. Don't let any know nothing hippies tell you nuclear isn't safe or environmentally friendly. Environmentalist are glib *******. San Onfre power plant is just a few miles up the coast from where I live. If I were you I would look up info on San Onfre nuclear power plant. The plant has two large domes that each encompass 4 reactors. Ocean water is used to cool the fresh water that is circulated through the reactor. The ocean water is returned to the ocean at about 90 degree Fahrenheit. The water is dumped out of a pipe that ends a couple miles off shore. The warm water has spurred the development of kelp beds that are full of life that would not exist if not for the plant. Therefore one could argue that nuclear power plants can actually have a positive impact on surrounding areas. The days of Russian meltdown and 3 mile island mistakes are a thing of the past. Nuclear power plant technology has come a long way since # mile island(which wasn't as bad as people think) On the drawing board are plans for gas cooled plants. A gas cooled power plant would be much safer than liquid cooled. Problem with liquid cooled reactors is if they are allowed to get too hot they become impossible to cool. If a reactor gets too hot the liquid coolant turns into a gas before getting to the reactors radiator. If this happens the material melts and the rods will no longer be able to slid into place and stop or slow the reaction. Therefore any newly built nuclear power plant will lack the problems and dangers of older plants. New plants would be safer than the already safe plants in existence today. Nuclear power would make electric bills a thing of the past. Electricity generated through nuclear reaction will be too cheap to even warrant billing the consumer. Nuclear power is the cleanest and safest way to produce electricity. Is is cheap and requires no fossil fuels what so ever. If the US implemented the use of more nuclear power everyone wins. Coal, natural gas, wind, hydro powered plants all really on the suns energy. Nuclear power uses the chemistry that powers the sun. If the US had enough nuclear power plants the need to import oil from people who don't like America will be a thing of the past. Nuclear power could be used to make the fuel of the future. Because a nuclear power plant can produce electricity cheaply and in large quantities it would then be possible to us the electricity to make and condense hydrogen. The hydrogen then could be used to power cars in the same way gasoline is used today. Therefore we in the US can say bye bye to all oil imports. Oil burning cars, trucks, planes and trains would become a thing of the past. Fuel cost would become incredibly cheap and emissions issues would end as well. Recap-Nuclear power=cheap safe clean electricity, the electricity can be used to produce hydrogen that could then be used to power every type of vehicle that currently uses oil products. The environment will never again face damage done due to the burning of carbon based fuel. Electricity and fuel would become so cheap it is likely to not even be billed. Without the need to buy oil from countries that mean the free world harm is another benefit. Nuclear power is safe, clean and cheap. Expansion of nuclear power would also provide jobs and keep our enemies from using our money to buy weapons. The mid east would become nothing more than a waste land full of evil people who don't line their pockets with Americans hard earned money.

The US had intended on using neuclear energy on a wide spread basis. It was being implimented during the Carter administration. Then, the 3 Mile Island crisis happened. This curtailed the expansion and use of nueclear energy. The web site below will explain the 3 mile island crisis in detail.
