These are the excuses I've heard from my husband
1) Right after the game, honey (of course everything is done by then)
2)I'd just be in the way (So why don't you just do take care of it all while I watch TV)
3)If I cooked the food no one would eat it (he has cooked on occasion. The results were not spectacular but certainly edible. The family did not complain. What he means is he prefers my cooking skills to his own. If he had more practice his skill would improve immensely.)
4) Before he became disabled, he used the breadwinner argument that I've seen here. Now I'm the breadwinner and the bread baker. Not fair.

I really don`t know and I really don`t care at the moment cause I sit on the couch and let the older people make food and I find it amusing how they yell from the kitchen asking if someone could help. Considering I`m a sucky cook they should be glad I`m not in there.

Because they don't want to. It reminds me of a story called "The Little Hen" story when the hen made all of the bread and the rabbit, dog, and cat didn't help but when the bread was finished, they wanted to eat, but they couldn't since they didn't help. Maybe you should do the same thing. ^_^

why does'nt everyone stop bitching and except that women cook on Thanksgiving and men don't? Women brag about how men don't do anything right or as good as them, so which is it cook or stay out of the way?

Lol... some men don't. My best friend, (if you saw one of my questions, I fell in love with him), isn't a couch potato. He LIKES doing the dishes...lol...it's so weird!! He hates football too. see why I fell in love w/ him??

Somehow this culture has been very kind to men (in that way).
They get to park their LAZY ASSES while the women are busy working their cute lil' butts off, making scrumptious food for everyone..
All I can say is, GOOD JOB, WOMEN!! ..maybe over the next 1000 years or so we can change things around...
