something no one else is doing......project, be ADILADE ! even if you don't get the part it's because something else is around the corner.....

They obviously like your talent. Now maybe something close to Adelaide's character--she's a combination of ballsy and brassy (Take Back Your Mink) and reflective/sad (Adelaide's Lament). Pick one of those emotions to express.
There's a number of songs from Gypsy that have these qualities.

Add: Just noticed you said they've already assigned the song. Isn't that a duet? Anyhoo, that one's got both qualities; find ways to express them both.

pick something that you are most comfortable wit hand can act out well, one of my favorite songs to do at an audition is called Climbing Uphill from The Last 5 Years!
