I don't know what your zip code is, since I don't know where you live in Southern Maine, but if you go to the Wizards of the Coast website (http://www.wizards.com) -- Click on "Find a Store" on the main page. From there you can put in your zip code, a mileage radius, and what product you want to buy (i.e. Magic: The Gathering) and it will give you back all the shops that sell that product within the radius. I found ~100 shops that sell M:tG within 99 miles of Portland, and you can probably find something close to yourself.

Additionally, if you are interested in tournaments, or Friday Night Magic, it should give you that information as well.
