I was seriously planning to answer your question with all manner of interesting stuff about my particular area until I clicked on your question and read the last line. In that line you limited the discussion to places in the UK. I am so sorry. I do not live in the UK. I am a resident of eastern North Carolina, USA.

Having said that, let me ask you to ponder two questions since you have a bee in your bonnet about moving...

1.) Are you happy about the price of housing and land in the UK?
Yes or No.

2.) Are you an educated person with certain professional talents?
Yes or No.

If your answers are No - Yes, and you are a single entity, not married or with child, let me suggest you immigrate to the US
and live in eastern NC. With UK credentials you could visit rather cheaply and easily before making a serious decision like that. The opportunities here are wonderful, and much of the land mass is still rural so that you would be well ahead of the development cycle if that is important to you.

Have a nice day.
