I really would like to have a 30 - 60 GB iPod, but I don't want one with video capabilities. Are there any iPods that fill that criteria?

Go old school, buy the 40 GB without color and the small screen. Modern day iPods do have the video, so if you really want an iPod, you can just get it but never put any videos in it, which is what I do, stupidly.
Or you can try researching on the internet for a better brand, but videos are, I think, the new "it" thing...

You can find a used 4th gen 30gig ipod on ebay. The screen is in color so you can put pictures in it but it's not capable of playing videos.

I believe you can just use them as a normal mp3 just don't load videos onto it, I haven't heard of any that are just mp3 without video
