Bouzouki, like all musical organs can be as tiresome as any other music if it is performed by unskilled musicians. Yet, bouzouki has a special attachment with Greek music. The masters of it, Chiotis, Zampetas, Tsitsanis, to name only few of the old musicians. They made bouzouki music the favorite kind of music for the people who up until then consider it as the music of the few outcasts of their time. Personally I like it in very much but in controlled quantity and quality , and then again on special moments and pieces. Yes, Asimenia you are right on the "demotiki" music of Ipirus. I just happened by accident on a "Panygyri" on a village close to the Albanian border, while serving my army time and it so happened I was the highest ranking official present and I could not offend by refusing. I stayed the bare minimum politeness allowed before retreating and I'm still running. Yet is the music people are conditioned to hear from their birth on and they get attached to it.

Yes..,Call Mario Evgeniou, 0785571758. -He makes BOUZOUKIA, lives in Cheltenham, I have seen 3 or 4 he made, I would give him 7 out of 10 for the two. and 9/10 the other Two. ( I am a Pro Bouz. Player 35yrs-sorry for mentioning, but its relevant to my opinion of the instruments).Takis
