Im looking forward in being one, but i just dont want to work on weekends and in the nights because of religious beliefs. On Saturdays, Sundays, Tuesdays, And Thursdays i have to go to my church. THis is in the night from 7-9 pm on tuesday and thursday. on saturdays and sundays i have to go at 10 AM-12 PM . So my question is, do they all have to work on weekends and nights. Whats the chance that im going to be working at those times. Thanks and 10 ptz

Im might work at a pharmacy store like savon or walgreens. Im assuming pharmacists that work at these stores have to work less than ppl who work at big places like kaiser permanente or other big medicine places. THanks 10 ptz for best answers.

lemme see......you won't work evenings or weekends.

I've bad news, you won't even make it through pharmacy school. Your internship will be almost entirely comprised of weekends and evenings. And IF you finish, most Pharmacist jobs involve working your share of weekends and evenings.

The rest of us have 'religious beliefs' too. But your refusal to work them (thereby forcing others to work them for you) is not in keeping with the biblical imperative of pulling the bull from the mire. And if Jesus were a Pharmacist.......he'd work his share of weekends and evenings.

Self employed pharmacists are also typically small business owners. Like any other small business, it's difficult to compete with chain stores who can get products at a cheaper wholesale price due to volume. Therefore, with a smaller profit margin, you need to do what it takes to make up for it. Either work longer hours or more productive business.

Hi Irene,I think I know where you're coming from judging from your schedule.I guess where ever you live people need med.supplies on wkns.too.,in the Private sector as well as Government Health Care IE. hospitals and other institutions.Perhaps you would fit your schedule in one of the health centres where there is more than one on duty and someone can fill in.Here in Newfoundland Canada the need is great for Health Care (Gov.) Pharmacists. Once you prove yourself to be a good worker it would come easier for you to fit in.A young friend here after proving herself at a food centre progressed ahead as well as was allowed to attend all her meeting schedules. Wow there's my mouthful and I wish you the best. I complement you on getting a meaningful course. EDIT -- In the case of the above young friend she in view of her quality and honest work was given more responsible commitments so because of more than one cong.in the area she had to adjust to several different cong. meetings.

Everyone in health care have to work nights and weekends. It's just a part of life. Most stores and hospitals require nights and weekends.
