if acceleration is on the x axis, the slope represents 1/mass

as

slope = x/y = acc/force
and
force=mass x acc
so
acc/force=1/mass

if force is on the x axis, the slope represents mass

as

slope = x/y = force/acc
and
force=mass x acc
so
force/acc=mass
