I know that I exist. As descartes said, I think therefore I am. However I cannot know whether I exist in the way that I think that I do. I also know to be true things like 1+1=2. This is definitely true because the definition of 2 is that it is one more than one. However this does not really mean anything, just that I have defined two to be one plus one and so that it what it is. It tells us nothing useful. Bit like Plato's forms really, we can't know anything except that which we gain by perfect reason and thinking.

I know that truth is a very subjective thing. Especial personal truths such as religion, ethics and politics, but even scientific truths change. I think you should believe what you believe, but you should try to stay open minded.
