My friend got a gift (bed sheets) that was produced 30 years ago. It was tragic and funny at the same time. It was a gift from very rich friends.

When I got married, a wealthy Aunt gave us a used plastic platter (I think it was that Melmac ware). I was speechless. It's hard to write a thank you note for something like that!!

my mother gave my grandmother a gift for christmas one year and a few years later she gave it back to her. We laugh about this one every christmas when she is not around

I'm sure I have at some point. We were very poor growing up, so we appreciated what we got...I still do. I would just feel good that someone got me something at all...at least they were thinking of me. It is the thought that counts.

yes as I received several used books at one time. was happy to receive them as these were collectibles
