I agree with you on this. TV retools you to revere and build your personal schedule around worthless trash culture. It has always been a substitute for going out and accomplishing something worthwhile. But in the last few years, it's become a much much poorer quality excuse. (Oprah and Springer TV, Reality TV, Infotainment "News", Prime time Game Shows, etc.)

Yes! A very strong form of programming. Which doesn't have to be a negative thing, except that it is sorely influenced by the dollar and the people who own the dollars. I found myself ranting and raving at the TV because of the news programs. Never telling us facts and leading us on with sensationalism and fear. My set broke down in 1986 and I haven't watched TV since.
