So what we need to do is to round it out. I pick the top of the line which is the vocabulary that surrounds you. you know like the drop down effect first you hear speech, learn speech, read speech and last of all you write speech. while you are reading speech always consult a dictionary and viola watch it grow.

I would say B.

Many people can recognize a word written down that they wouldn't otherwise think of.

For instance--I would never use the word "glottal" in conversation, or write it down, but if I were to read it I would recognize it and know what it means.

most people can say far more words than they can spell.
people understand more words than they can recognize
they can recognize more words than they can write. So it has to be C, by default.
