How do I get my rear window to go back to the up (closed) position?

my bmw X3 rear window is down and won't go back up. I hear the window motor trying to return it to the closed(up) position.

Have someone pull up on it while you push the button.

it broke off the track your going to have to see what happened usualluy either a cable broke or the pully.
