when you make to people how do you get a car

So.. I'll assume you have the necessary program (Sims2 Nightlife) Once you have your family moved in, you need to build a driveway - it's under the BUILD MODE, you'll see a garage looking thing. Once you place at least one part of a driveway you can then BUY a car. You have to go to BUY MODE and I believe it's under MISC, but I'm not sure, look around in BUY MODE and you'll see a CAR, click on that and you can choose the car you want (based on how much you can afford). The car will then be placed on your driveway and your sims can use it.
(you can also build a whole garage, but it is not necessary to own a car.. you MUST HAVE A DRIVEWAY).

hmmm... if you are playing "The Sims", as in the original Sims... there's no way you can get a car... i mean, there are means where you can download cars on the web but the are nothing but meer decorations...
if you want a car that is functional, a car that can drive your sims all over the place, be it to work, to town or even the shopping district for that matter, you have to have "The Sims 2" installed along with the expansion pack "The Sims 2: Nightlife"
The Sims 2: Nightlife is like the original sim's Hot Date... just that it has more~ in nightlife, you get to purchase cars... do purchase cars, simply go to the buy mode, hit miscellaneous and then hit the car icon... cars will be available for selection...
however, before you buy a car, you have to ensure that there is a garage for your car... you can build one by going to the build mode and finding the garage thingie... just build one and wa la~ you have a garage... then, place your car inside...
your sims will be able to use that car~ ta da~ simple~ :P

I've not played the Sims 2 but I think they are right, I think you have to have the Nightlife before you can get a car. But there is an add out there for everything else so why not have an add for the car as well.

You need to get the add on for it. It is not in any of the add ons I have. I think you need to buy Night Life.
