I am with my family for Thanksgiving after being not for the past 5 years due to school/plane fares are so expensive.
I totally understand how you feel. Family holidays can be no fun. I recommend you watch "The Family Stone". It's a cliche look at a Christmas with a family, but you'd probably identify with some of the movie at some level.

It doesn't sound mean, I've been doing everything for my family, taking care of an ill parent, grandkids and working full time. I'm also raising my own kids and have a husband... Today I'm only cooking for my immediate family in my sweats and watching movies and eating. Spending the holiday the way I want to...Have a good day!!

Yes.. We celebrate Thanksgiving in Britain but i dont really celebrate it so i dont really mind. Even if my relatives did celebrated it, i'd rather just stay at home using my computer and answering questions on Yahoo! Answers. Happy Thanksgiving to you too!

I am not with my family today and I am happy. I am dog-sitting so they can all go and visit. I am happy to have some quiet time and not be traveling, cooking, cleaning up....etc. Happy Thanksgiving to you!! :)

I think I'd be much happier today just being home with my husband and son. I'm tired of having to pretend that everything is okay between my sister-in-law and her husband. Not to mention - my nephew is like Damien from the Omen.

Me, I am celebrating my Thanksgiving with my hubby. My family refuses to recognizes our union, so I send my blessings out to them, with a message of love.I do ask that they would find kindness/forgiveness in their hearts to accept my husband.

Yeah. It's fine. People who let not being with their family today would really be messing up a day off for nothing.
