Thinking of boy names, want to know if this is wierd or not.?

Question

I love the name Ethan, but our last name is Hunt. I've heard that the guy from Mission Impossible is named Ethan Hunt. I would never want to name a child after a movie character and don't want people to think that is what we did. Do you think anyone would make that connection?

I also like the name Kadden, Caleb, but all C or K names don't work with the name Hunt because it's a bad word if you put it together (mind you, both my husband and I have names that start with a C, my hubby was teased his whole life as a kid, no one has ever said anything to me, but I didn't get the name till I was 24 and I think people are more mature now. )

I also like the name Aiden, Jaden, Xavier, and Quinn.

What are your thoughts?

Yeah, I agree with you about the C./K. initial and your surname. Our surname limited our choices too. You couldn't name him Fox either.. ;-)

How much would it bother you, if you were named Ethan Hunt and when you introduced yourself someone said, "Oh, like in MI?" I don't think it's that big a deal, if you really feel like the kid is an Ethan. ANY name you choose will have something wrong with it, if you think about it hard enough with an open mind!

Aiden is such a great name, but it's every baby's name these days. Quinn is being used a lot for girls, and since I know a girl Quinn I'm kinda opposed to it for a boy, but it's not bad. Xavier and Jaden are alright. Jaden Hunt sounds nice. If you don't mind that the name is a little bit trendy and so might give away his age someday.

Have you thought about Evan or Alexander?

Ethan is a nice, i'm sure loads of people have got the same name as famous people without their parents wanting them to be named after just they liked that name if you like the name ethan don't let that put you off. Aiden is a nice name. Jaden sounds more like a girls name to me, but the sound is nice. I like the name Dylan or shane. All the best

Instead of Ethan, have you considered Nathan or Nathaniel. Nathan Hunt sounds nice. Aiden is nice and so is Xavier. I'd stay away from Jaden because of the Britney connection.

I love all those names, I think that Ethan Hunt is a beautiful name and I dont think that people would make a connection between the movie and name. I wanted to name my son Aiden or Jayden also, In fact up until the time i had him he was called Jayden Kyler and then i changed it to Aeryn Kyler when he was born. Congrats

I think Ethan is a great name for your son and I doubt most people would get the connection....it's not like your last name is Cruise and you want Thomas, right? As for the C and K names, it's too bad about the connection to the last name, 'cause I find them very strong...like Cayden, Connor, or Colton, but I can see your problem. Be grateful, a woman I know married a guy with the last name Beaver, so she had to drop the nickname Sandy. See, could be worse!

Jaden is also a girls name so avoid that one, Xavier is kind of weird and he will never forgive you. Ethan is a name that will go out of style and is too common. Aiden is probably the nicest one to go with your last name.

I did not make that assumption with the name Ethan. By the time he is in school, no one will have heard of that movie anyways. I like Ethan Allen Hunt.

i dont think anyone will make the connection... i didnt. but the name aiden is a nice name. i was going to name my first boy that one. i agree with the whole c or k name. kids can be cruel and you dont want to set your child up for that one. but ethan and aiden are cute names. good luck

I Personally Love the name Jaden . I think that Jaden Dylan Hunt would be a perfect combination.

I really like the names Caleb and Aiden. I actually have a Caleb in my family. Aiden is really unique. I don't think I've met an Aiden before.
