It's NOT the government that charges for prescription drugs, it's the pharmeceutical companies. If prescription drugs were controlled by the government, the prices wouldn't be so extreme. It's the cost of manufacturing so many different kinds of medications that makes the cost so high for medicines. I know from personal experience that if it wasn't for the fact that I'm on MediCal and MediCare, that I'd be paying thousands of dollars for my medications for diabetes, pedal edema, and sleep apnea. So it's the drug MANUFACTURERS that are the real highway robbers...
