It's funny how we react to truth. When America does wrong we can find any old way to overlook it.

Everytime I attempt to be patriotic this issue nags at me. Everytime I start to think about how our country is good a voice in the back of my head says" Cordova, seriously dude, that is bull sht". Then the voice will say, "when is the last time you saw a Native American?". The voice is right. Millions were killed! Millions of Africans were killed! On this day I am thankfull that I am waking from the ignorant slumber I have been in since I was born. This is coming from a man who is part Pawnee.

That's a loaded question if I ever heard one.

It makes certain presumptions - and it also indulges in the 21st century's favourite past-times of finding and labeling "victims" to champion or pity. I personally find that somewhat insulting to our First Nations.

I'm part Celt in my ancestry. My ancestors were sold as slaves and hunted all the way across Europe. Genocide was committed against us. Our land was stolen (otherwise the Celtic homeland would be somewhere in Hungary or Austria, rather than Scotland and Ireland!) Not that we were completely innocent. Given the opportunity, Celts were just as willing and capable of inflicting pain on their adversaries and capturing and selling slaves of our own.

And yet, somehow, there are still things I - personally - can be thankful for.

I think the same is true of all peoples - Native Americans included. For instance there is (historically) little love lost between the Inuit and the Cree, or between the Cheyenne and the Sioux, or between ... there are too many examples to fill in.

And yet my Chippewa co-worker still celebrates Thanksgiving.

I have considered this considering that i replaced right into a baby. It stems from we are the conquerors and also you're less than type of concepts-set. it continues to be going solid to at present. there are so a lot more beneficial than 50,000 interior sight individuals/indigenous peoples residing at present. i ought to say extra, yet some have given such tremendous records in this problem. i'll claim that once i flow to a keep i'd be accompanied all around the keep. I have realized who's safe practices on the shops I well-known and ought to catch them monitoring me quickly. I also despatched emails asking why do you keep on with purely minorities and get a replay saying it really is compared to that sir. One keep i overheard the safe practices manager saying keep on with those Indians they are going to thieve in the adventure that they don't seem watched. some others who're no longer Caucasian suggested they get a similar remedy. I talked with one human being when they suggested out loud in the front of the safe practices guy... i see that they purely look to objective those who're except white. That were given the safe practices men interest quick and he disappeared. This human being suggested notwithstanding they put in many lawsuits about being treated like they were thieves, she suggested no longer something seems finished about it.

unless.they know very well about spirituality.and understand that . sometimes things happens not to us.but because of US..these tribes although.ok.have been.fighting among themselves.before the greed Europeans come.well.lets see things through both perspective..they should not be thankful..but they should be aware on why did it happen and for WHAT! cos everything has got a reason to be or happen. There isn;t no villains or victims in this world just co players.playing with different teams.clubs and at different level of consciousness. So there is "lesson" to be learnt here .both from the Amerindians.and the Europeans.the coming of the Europeans to the Americas.maybe not have been.a blessing .or a curse.both to the white men or the Amerindians..until now the Americas.still struggle with violence's.conflicts and social problems..so from there on we see that: EVERY ACTIONS HAS GOT A RESULT OF REACTIONS.

Let me see. I have Sioux and always wondered if you (the white man) would be thankful if someone forced you off of your land, decided to murder your whole family, ummmm maybe because they did not like your last name, or your skin color and just didn't like you and decided that they had to have what you have. Then for the big one, decided to have some fun with your mother, sisters and daughters before the big kill? You opened up a can of worms with that question. Interesting though. Love to see you and many others walk a mile in their shoes. It would be interesting to see what went around to the Indians come back around to the race that did it.

Being of AI descent (my grand mother was half Cherokee and half Dutch, No more so than say the "African - Americans should be for allowing their own warring tribal practices of enslaving the losers and then selling them to the Europeans to then bring to the outer banks and to this continent to be sold into an even bigger market. Forgiveness, it's a wonderful thing. So is education.

Thanks for admitting it . Yes the Land was stolen as well as the Black slaves.. Some people are just outright thieves..Thinking they could and "DID" take what they wanted..Thankful, I don't think so, they fought to the end and that is one thing I admired them for....I too, would fight to the end for something that was truly mine and someone decides to just take it..be 4 real...Genocide, please don't get me started!!!!!!!!!! I don't have to ask who you are ...your words let me know
