Hi there, If you dont have any acting training I would suggest enrolling on a college course so you can get a good base knowledge of your chosen field (ie- physical theatre, brechtian theatre etc). Also, go to your local theatre and see if they have a group that you can join. (sometimes they only want people to work backstage, but stick with it and show you are committed and then you will be able to audition for a part the next time they are doing a play). I would also suggest getting yourself a reputable agent. (sometimes the books are closed and they only have auditions at certain times of the year, so dont delay in finding an agent as you may have to wait for ages if you miss the opportunity to audition) When you do get a part in a play make sure your agent comes along to see you and make sure that you have sent tickets to all the other local agents so that they can see what great talent you have! you never know what it might lead onto. You can get a list of agents from equity (the actors union - www.equity.org) if you have any more questions they would be able to point you in the right direction. Have a read of the following - 'Building a Character' and 'An Actor Prepares' by Stanislavsky. I hope this helps, and I wish you all the luck in the world!! Acting is hard work and requires dedication and committment. The rejection can be heartbreaking but just remember that it isnt personal and to stay positive and dont give up on your dream! Good Luck hun! xx

Find your local community theater or playhouse. See if there is a production that you can join or volunteer. Local community theaters always need help either with sets, costumes, or for acting parts. Just get involved.
