Why do they hide the banker in a room? I could never figure that out. Anybody got any ideas?

i think its so he dont get jumped on the streets

Because the banker is merely one of the producers of the show, who works with others to decide the amount of money to be given. No celebrity here, just an easier way to promote the show, making it seem more than it is.

I know i have always wondered....................Maybe it's because he shows more amotion than they want you to think...........b/c he's suppost to be the bad guy.................yet sometimes the good guy but maybe he smiles and can't keep a straight face some of the time...............or b/c people might notice him on the street and get mad of something he might have done on the show b/c they might have known someone from the show but they didn't walk away with much b/c of the banker!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But can the banker see them?{the contestint}

I believe it adds to the mystique. there is an old adage in selling that it is always easier to discuss a bad topic over the phone to avoid contact. I think it is kind of like that, you dont see this person so you dont know his level of stress in his face.

he probably has more peple working with him on the phone or line and also so he doesn't get booed , i don't thing he makes all the offers himself
