Marriage is a beautiful thing but there is a great amount of responsibility that goes with it. With school and preparation for the future marriage just might be to much to handle. Also, many marriages fail because of finances.

I think that marriage is a beautiful thing. But it shouldn't be joked around with, too many teens also get married when they are pregnant. Divorce is not good. I think there is nothing wrong with getting married when you are 16 it is the couples maturity level that matters, and it also helps that they of course get along, love each other and know they will never fall out of love. I think it also helps to have your finances in order and know a lot about the other person although even after being married for 14 years you still are learning something new about your spouse every day. AGE IS NOTHING BUT A NUMBER, BUT MATURITY MATTERS. IF YOU HAVE TO TELL YOURSELF YOU ARE GROWN YOU ARE NOT.

I, personally, am 17 years old and pregnant. Where I live it is legal to get married if you are pregnant (even at 14 with parents permission). I do not believe that marrige should be taken lightly, and too many teenagers get married because they get pregnant, and end up regretting it. I am not getting married, although I do believe that it is right to be married when you have a child, because I feel that I am too young to make a life-long decision like this... Anyway, i think 16 is much too young!

I don't know if that is true. At 16 you need a parent's permission or court order to be emancipated (legally free from parent's jurisdiction), why would it be different for marriage? That's funny!

Edit: I know you can drive and get a license at 16 so that's a step, but next thing you know, they'll be allowing 15 or 12 year olds to drive! I think they are nowadays right? Through special circumstances.

That is way too young in anyone mind. I see people who wait until their 20's to get married and still, 30% end in divorce. I think the last numbers I heard was over 50% divorce rate from ages 18-24. that's not good. You need to enjoy life and spread your wings before getting tied down in marriage.

ihave known my bf since i was 16 and i am now 20 and we're getting married and having a baby so they do know whta love is. do your kids know if they love you ????? Some 30 years olds have never experienced love so i don't think anyone has room to talk about what people know. Oh and my grandma got pregnant by my grandpa at 16 and they're still together. some people get married at 30 anss get divorced 2 years later.

People at 16 do not even know the meaning of the word marriage.

I think it shouldn't be legal until the age of 18. 18 is young too, but that is alot more reasonable. The idea of being married and being in highschool just doesn't sit too well with me.

Your chance of a successful marriage is less than 10%. You are not mature enough to handle the stresses marriage brings. . think finances, laundry, feeding and cooking for 2, cleaning up after someone else as well as yourself, dealing with another person's living habits (can be EXTREMELY stressful), dealing with how another person was raised (different than your ideas), etc. Not a good plan. . .
