I am not sure about sword as it is thousands year old invention, but Sir Frank Whittle did invent Jet engine. See the links below. For sword, definitely you will have hard luck. You can read about it though at the wiki link below.

The Germans invented the first jet engine in WW 2.
The first sword was invented way back in the bronze age when men learned to forge metal. I have a feeling you already know this.

Thinking back, the first jet was invented in two places at about the same time. In Germany and also in England.
In England, it was a gentleman named Sir Frank Whittle. In Germany, it was two men, Hans von Ohain and Max Adolf.
It should be noted for the sake of clarity, that jet engines have been around since approx. 70 AD (Hero of Alexandria's Aeolipile). But were not first introduced en mass until the closing days of WW II.

Primitive Jets were "used" by Chinese and Greeks more than 2,000 - 3,000 years ago. Though, the Greeks have described then and we can rebuild them!
As for the first sword, Oh, my dear! it goes further than the jet!
If you are asking for specific type of sword, you have to make it clearer; if your question is general, swords have been used for several millenia! The first epic poem, the Iliad describes them, their use, value, materials, weight, etc.
