Well, I have been a Mother, experienced rape, had abortions & given birth. If I had kept the children I aborted, I don't think their lives would have been happy, because the Mother who carried them inside of her body (me) really didn't want them there! The child that was born, & very much wanted & loved, grew up to be a wonderful human being. I know that when a fetus is growing inside of a womans body, it gets to feel everything she feels. If she feels angry towards having it there, the baby is doomed to live a life of confusion & pain. Someone did some studies to support this theory, but I don't know who or when. Aborton is never easy on any of the people involved. It is better than bringing another confused being into the world. It stays with you forever & yes, I have regrets, but I know I did what was best at the time for the right reasons. I was able to have a child, but I was not able to have the Father of that child be a part of their childhood. He only wanted to be around adults & he got his wish! I have worked with people who were products of rape & they were so lost & angry because they wanted answers to questions that could not ever be answered by anyone.

I'm pro choice. It would be pretty tough if my girlfriend was raped and I would definitiely be relieved if she had an abortion.
I wouldn't try to force her to have an abortion, but I'd be honest about the fact that her having the kid would make it more likely that I would leave her.
Raising a kid is expensive and time consuming. I can't see myself raising another man's baby. I've worked hard in my life to have enough money and time to raise my own kids and pass on my own genes.
Adoption is an option, but many mothers change their mind at the last minute.
Also, once she had the child her priority will change and the child will become more important to her. Once again, that's fine if its your own child...but not if another man is the father.
Of course, when you love someone enough sometimes you can do extrodinary things for them. Raising another mans child is an extrodinary act in my mind.
