That's rather strange question! Unlike the original celebration where it was like a 'block party' in which many people of different background and culuture gathered as one to give thanks for a bountiful harvest. My belief is that today, most celebrate more with just family or in some cases extended families. Preparing a 'feast' of food and drink. We gather at a members home, usually a different one each year. The women do the food perparations which men socialize and siblings play. At the meal thanks is offered to the Deity for all we have received in our lives and ask for further good fortune, and better times for those less fortunate. After the meal, at our home, the women take rest from their labors and the men perform the chore of cleaning up the remains and setting the house back to order.

We have a wonderful meal with our friends and family and then we turn on the football games. Or we watch football first. We usually have turkey and stuffing, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie for dessert. It is a wonderful feast.

Gathering with family and eating, laughing and joking until we can no longer stand the site of one another, at which time we sit down to watch a little football and doze off in our reclining chairs with our fat little bellies hanging out.

Usually with a big ol' turkey dinner; ironically the first Thanksgiving, turkey WAS NOT on the menu because wild turkey was tough and hard to cool so they ate other stuff including boiled eel.

Most Americans probably hang out with their family, cook together and then stuff themselves with turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and pie. Then, they hang out with their family some more.
