I did the same not too long ago.
My cousins and I took a road trip for Spring Break.We spent 1 night in our car, and 1 more night at my cousins friends.It took us a little less than 3 days.If you didnt stop to sleep,probably about 2 days.Its a pretty direct route id say.But i suggest stopping to sleep,it helps rest the car,and you dont wanna end up falling asleep at the wheel.

I don't know from Palm springs but I drove form Anaheim to Seattle when I moved in 2004 in a little over 23 hours, it all depends on how long you stop for, I needed to rest for a couple of hours and there was ice on the roads near the CA/ OR border.other than that we hit some traffic near Portland and Seattle but It took the better part of a day. I don't stop often though usually just for gas.
