Drink a little bit(at least 8 oz.) of Gatorade every hour. The Gatorade will help to rehydrate her and will provide her with the electrolytes(Potassium, Sodium, etc.) that's she lost. My anatomy professor told our class this once and I've sworn by it since. It's actually better to start drinking Gatorade before you are to that stage, but it couldn't hurt to try it now. Take some Tylenol to help any pains, but the headache is actually caused by the loss of fluid surrounding your brain due to dehydration. You can have her try a saltine cracker to help settle her stomach, but not more than one or two at a time. Usually after any gastrointestinal ill you should remain on a bland diet, so it may not be god to eat Thanksgiving dinner, but I wouldn't blame her for trying. Happy Thanksgiving.

A "hangover" is the body's reaction to alcohol poisoning. Alcohol is not really a poison, but as it gets metabolized, it becomes oneand then get's turned to "water" which you void (pee) out. The cells dehydrate and shrink a bit. The ultimate answer is to avoid alcohol. But if you must, an IV of .9% NS. Get tanked up on the solution forgoing the stomach which is in retaliation, and a little rest works wonders. Can't get an IV? Sip a little water and rest. In time, this too shall pass regardless of what we try and do. In the meantime, don't yell in her ear.

Have her drink lukewarm (room temperature) water very, very slowly. Cold water, or water drunk quickly will make her stomach sieze, which is probably why she was throwing up the water. The Gatorade idea is a good one, too, but make sure it's not cold, and sip it really slowly. It will help get her electrolytes back up, which will help her get rehydrated. After awhile if she can keep the liquid down heave her eat something bland (like Saltines).
