If you're attracted to both blond(e)s and redheads, how could you ever be faithful to one partner? Exact same illogic.
Maybe it's that lots of people understand homosexuality and heterosexuality as opposite sides of the same coin, that people are attracted to *a* particular gender; while bisexuality is more difficult for many to relate to.
Other answerers were exactly right to point out that monogamy, in/fidelity, and polyamory (open, honest, multiple loves with everyone's consent and considering everyone's feelings) are independent of whether one is gay, straight, or bi (or unlabeled).

I'm bisexual and I've never cheated on any of my partners plus, I'm in a long term relationship at the moment... People tend to believe that we "need" to have a woman and a man in our lives so that we can be "satisfied"....
Anyone is prone to infidelity, no matter what or who you are!

complete and total ********. just because you are capable of attraction to both sexes doesn't mean you can't be faithful to just one person.
people don't seem to grasp the difference between bisexuality and polyamory. There are straight and gay poly people and bisexual monogamous people. The tendency to have multiple partners is something that is entirely separate from your sexuality.
It's not logic, it's stupidity.

Well, according to Woody Allen, the best thing about being bisexual is that you have twice the chance for a Saturday night date.

well...yes it is the lack of understanding of the orientation.
many people fear that because one is capable of being with both, that means that they will not be satisfied with just one sex and will eventually leave them for someone else making a long term relationship impossible. this belief is NOT ********, but simply a product of fear and lack of understanding.
heck i was even worried about it with my bi boyfriend, and i'm bi myself.

Exactly! Great point. They are also humans, some cheat, others don't. The same as gays and straights.

I think because every closeted cheating freak of a man who wants to cheat on his wife with a man calls himself bi or bi curious.
Sadly these cretins get lumped in with your community.

I'd guess it's because if someone can't stick to one gender to like sexually or to love, how would they be able to stick to one person? Or to paraphrase Dennis Miller. I don't care what you , but it regularly."

Simple logic - if you're attracted to both men and women, how could you be loyal to any one person?
