Too true! So many of us are exploited, and then go on to exploit ourselves further, just so some fat shareholder somewhere can reap a bigger dividend. We need to value ourselves more, and to value other people as human beings too!

Yes Today people are forced to work hard.
There are several reasons for that :
1. Ambitious to climb the ladder of success at an early date.
2. squeezing out even the last drop of your blood by the private companies to face the tough challenges ahead of them.
3. In the middle east, each one is afraid whether they could be fired and some one else will be hired.
4. with the advancement of technology one is expected to work even on holidays due to availability of mobile and emails and other means of communication.
5. We all compromise with our family for the earnings which we make, which has a very drastic effect on the family.
6. Ultimately we don't have time to spend with family and for leaser

We definately work too hard today.
But look at how we're raised: at school and college we have so many holidays we sometimes get bored of having time off!! And then at university we get even more time off but we don't tend to get so bored this time!!
And then we start work... and suddenly find we can hardly take any time off!! The contrast is incredible.
With so many unemployed, and such an inadequate number for positions such as say, doctors, nurses, police etc why not reduce working hours, give more holidays, and spread the jobs over a greater number of people!!
Our country needs more people like me!

I am salaried so doesn't matter if I work overtime, but the pressure to get work in on time often means I take work home, most weekends I spend more time working than social time, I work in local government and it is common for my colleagues to put in 10 hours or more working over their time . I have recently had 3 months off with work related stress and realised just how much time I was putting in and the pressure I was putting myself under - now try to stop doing so much in my time, but have realised that I have sent my home e mail address 3 documents to work on - will delete from my mailbox as I am falling back into the work trap again.

Bring back the good old days, spending time with family instead of spending money. No shopping on a Sunday!

The reason why we all work too hard is because companies employ too few too people to save money on the workforce. Employing one person & making them work more is gonna be cheaper than employing two people in a shift to split the work.

People should work to live not live to work . Remember that work for another , as most of us do, is for their benefit not yours.
