it varies, some feel stomach pain.. others labor in the back.... as for me I felt alot of lower stomach pain and back pain... then i could feel his head coming out ouch that is what hurt the most for me..... after the head comes out you really dont' feel to much after that... and when the baby is in your arm you kinda forget the pain.. kinda strange...... but the pain is worth going through to get the prize at the end

VERY TIRED!Its exhausting pushing and it feels like you are going to the toilet rather than having a baby. Thats the only nice way i can put it. Seriously though I cried for over an hour with happiness. You cant believe that you have created a tiny person. Its the best experience of my life, nearly crying now!!

I had a difficult natural childbirth. I was on pitocin (which makes contractions harder) and went from 2 cm to 10 cm in 4 hours. I didn't feel any pain. It was very very intense pressure. After I had my daughter I felt on top of the world- like I had just conquered something huge.

Physically, a lot of pain... emotionally, there is nothing to compare what you feel during the delivery. I felt a bit lost, like in a dream. It's pretty hard to comprehend the life-changing event that is going on. To see your baby for the first time, it takes your breath away.

I did not have an epidural, so I think that the labor pain is worse than the actual giving birth. Not to say that it's not really painful..they don't call it the "ring of fire" for nuthin'!
It burns and you feel like your crotch is going to rip apart. Once the head's out, then it is so much better. Then when you hold your baby, it's pretty much forgotten.

Once the baby is ready to come out, you have no choice in whether or not you want to push. Your body pretty much arches and pushes...of course you have to help along. The attending Dr. in my case gave me the local anesthesia a little late, so I felt like he was ripping me open to pull that baby out, but once the baby slips out, the tremendous relief causes most of the pain to subside.

Excitement, transcendence over the physical body, orgasm
Oh... physically?
It's not entirely unlike... you know how when you have food poisoning and cramps and flux, you kinda zone and you are concentrating on getting it over with because it hurts a lot? Well... you have to relax yourself in the same sort of way as that, and your awareness of everything sort of goes down to a pinpoint as you focus on pushing the baby out. There's nothing like it really.
