Lennon said his son Julian came home from school with a drawing he'd done. John asked him what the picture was and Julian replied: "It's Lucy in the sky with diamonds." That's where he claims to have gotten the idea for the classic psychedelic song.
Nice story, whether Lennon made it up to cover the LSD reference is debatable.
