I don't like spiders. To me they are so disgusting and scary. How can I deal with my fear with spiders when I see them? I saw one behind my closed glass window twice; dark black, long legs, hairy as big as a baby palm. Even it didn't come into my room, still I was devastatingly petrified with its presence. Do you think I have some kind of arachnophobia or something? I really want to act cool like my male dudes everytime when they see spiders, they were like: 'ow, okay a spider... whatever!' Even sometimes they made fun of spiders. Why this fear of spider is so overwhelming?
Any suggestions?

your famlily while they raised you as a youngster got you into fearing spiders this is normal if this is the way you was raised spiders if left alone wont bite there are very few poisinous spiders
the black widow hobo spider dady long legs are a few if you handle one dont squeeze or startle it this will cause it to bite
they normaly leave you alone if they are left alone
a good way to get over your fear of them is to just play around with one found in your pet stores like i say dont squeeze or startle
it a spider it is like you you get hurt your fighting back keep this in mind as you handle them

WOW I KNOW exactly the feeling... the overwhelming fear is absolutely ridiculous but nothing I can do about it.

I have heard you have to hit it head on... well no way in hell am I touching one !!! good gawd, just thinking about that makes me lose my breath and I feel sick. I know I need therapy for it but won't be doing that anytime soon either knowing that at the end or even during the therapy I will have to touch one.

YOU are NOT alone !!!

Go to someone who owns a nice spider.
something like a tarantula,
And hold it

It will help you overcome your fear,
If you stand up to it and look it in the eye.

therapy? lol you have arachnaphobia as you probably already know. squish the spider with a shoe or flyswatter or something or just throw it outside!
