Grapes, no, although he's entertaining he isn't "know it all" He has no idea whats going on outside the games, like with who's thinking of signing where, and there's lots of teams he knows nothing about and lots of players he doesn't mention (or can't pronounce their names).
Gretzky? Not even close. He was a player, and a very good one, he knew how to play and all. But he isn't a "know it all", at least not yet, maybe in a few more years with some more coaching experience, but not yet.
My source for NHL info? Not sure what you mean but I go with the Newspaper (Toronto Star), sportsnet.ca and NHL.com for info.
If you are asking for who I think is the most knowledgeable hockey mind out there, thats a difficult question. I would say that there are quite a few who are good, such as Eric Duhatschek. He's the one who really stands out to me right now but there are so many more.

There arent a lot of hockey genious' out there just a lot of opinions. Don Cherry is awesome, not real smart sometimes but great to listen to. But the most brilliant mind, even though he doesnt speak very often is Scotty Bowman. Listen to an interview with him and it is no wonder why he was such a great coach. He doesnt present himself as a "know it all" but his vision for details is equal to Gretzkys vision on the ice.

Al Strachen, has an opinion on everything and is usually wrong. John Davidson the old Ranger announcer now the president of the Blues was my source. I guess I watch a lot of games and read the Hockey News to form opinions now.

Well my source has always been TSN or CBC or just good old NHL.com But as far as annoying know-it-alls, I'd have to say Pierre McGuire from TSN. That bald sonofabitch is just so irritating, and he doesn't even know what the hell he's talking about half the time!

Don Cherry thinks he is but he isn't. I've always been impressed with Eric Duhatschek. Whenever I see him on Hot Stove he always seems well informed and unbiased.
