the tide rises the tide falls...

the tide rises the tide falls,
the twilight darkens, the curlew walls,
Along the sea sand damp and brown
the traveler hasten towards the town,
and the tide rises, the tide falls

darkness settles on roofs and walls,
but the sea, the sea in the darkness calls,
the title waves, with their soft, white hands
efface the footprints on the sands,
and the tide rises, the tide falls

the morning breaks; the steeds in their stalls
stamp and neigh, as the hosler's calls;
the day returns, but nevermore
return the traveler to the shore,
and the tide rises the tide falls.

NOTE: i just really need it in my project...i hope someone can reply..thankz...^__^

It seems to be about the idea of "nothing is constant but change" -- or, the idea that "the hand, writing on the wall, returns nevermore, but passes on...". Make the moment count. We pass by this way but once. Missed opportunities do not return.

But, the waves, the tides, the everchanging sea, is always there.

It's a short story about some one who visits the beach, but for some reason does not return. The writer thows in darkness and horses, but for so apparent meaning. The poem was written for some very select audience that the writer knows and who must know who the traveler is and what darkness and horses mean. As for the theme, it's ocean tide.

This poem conveys a general message about death. The author associates darkness with death, ocean with life, and light with heaven. He is basically saying that once a person reaches death, sometimes their legacy is forgotten, but no matter what they will go to heaven (or hell) and never return to life.

I think it means either the scariest things aren't always so scary or sometimes out of something bad comes something good
